1954 Les Paul Custom Staple Pickup
While some were produced in 1953, 1954 was the first full year for the classy-looking, tuxedo-inspired Gibson Les Paul Custom. The Custom was the first guitar to come equipped with the now-legendary ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge. Like the earliest Les Paul Customs, this Gibson Custom reissue is equipped with a Staple pickup in the neck position and a Soapbar P-90 pickup in the bridge position, along with gold hardware. It also has a one-piece mahogany body, Kluson Waffleback tuners with plastic buttons, CTS potentiometers, paper in oil capacitors, and comes with a Custom Shop hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
