Neck Details: | Set-in mahogany neck with bound ebony fretboard, block inlays, and headstock volute. The neck has been previously refretted and has a non-original bone nut. |
Electronics: | The guitar has been converted from stereo to mono; at some point the pickups were removed and reinstalled, with a few splices present. The harness, Varitone, and patent number pickups are original. The bridge pickup appears to have been disassembled and the lead replaced, either to correct an out-of-phase pickup during the mono conversion, or to repair the pickup. There are also two extra bits of solder on the back of the bridge pickup. The embossed pickup covers date to 1972. |

Cosmetic Condition: | The guitar shows wear consistent with its age; the finish is glossy with small blemishes, swirls, and light scratches throughout. The pickup covers have noticeable wear and tarnish, and the ebony fretboard has some small chips from the previous refret. There is some light finish checking on the face of the headstock and in a few areas of the body, as well as some finish chipping around where the original nut was removed. |
