Tech Notes: | This guitar was custom made by the owner of Microfrets for a friend who let him borrow a Fender Stratocaster to use as evidence in a lawsuit case against him where Fender was accusing him of copying their designs. This is well documented in an article in Vintage Guitar Magazine that can be found here: https://www.vintageguitar.com/62278/classics-september-2023/ The guitar plays well with low action; the neck is very straight even with the truss rod fully loosened, and so the guitar sets up best with 11 gauge strings or heavier. The original frets are low with light play wear. The pencil date dates the guitar to 1969. |
