Epiphone 150th Anniversary Limited Edition Models
Celebrate One of the Oldest Guitar Makers in America!
Chicago Music Exchange is proud to offer a limited selection of Epiphone 150th Anniversary models, including the Zephyr DeLuxe Regent, Sheraton, Wilshire, and Crestwood Models, in celebration of 150 years of instrument making!
“The House of Stathopoulo” Turns 150!
First begun in Greece in 1873 before moving to Manhattan in 1904, Epaminondas ‘Epi’ Stathopoulo’s namesake has played a central role in every great musical era—from the mandolin craze of the early 1900s to becoming one of the fiercest competitors in the archtop market during the Jazz Age.
But, in the wake of the founder’s death in 1943, the “House of Stathopoulo” went through more than a decade of uncertainty until it was acquired by Gibson’s owners, CMI, and it began to flourish once again. Since then, the Epiphone brand name has remained a staple brand in the electric guitar market among jazz, blues, and rock musicians, alike!
150th Anniversary Zephyr DeLuxe Regent
Originally produced from 1948 until 1957, the Epiphone Zephyr DeLuxe Regent was once one of the world’s preeminent archtop guitar designs. To celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary, Epiphone is producing 873 models inspired by the highly-collectible vintage originals, with updates for modern players.
Perfect for jazz, blues, and rockabilly, the fully hollow Zephyr DeLuxe Regent models feature a deep cutaway for improved access to the upper frets, a multi-layer pressed maple arched top, and a 25.5”-scale 5-piece maple and mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard, plus a historic ‘50s-style Epiphone logo, a Tree of Life headstock inlay, and historic Epiphone Cloud fretboard position markers.
150th Anniversary Sheraton
Throughout the 1960s, Epiphone’s thinline archtop models rivaled any others on the market, and the semi-hollowbody Sheraton model was no exception. In celebration of Epiphone’s 150th Anniversary, Epiphone will produce 873 anniversary of these elegant instrument models!
Crafted from layered maple with a maple center block for feedback resistance, the 150th Anniversary Sheraton features a 22-fret one-piece mahogany neck, with a bound Indian laurel fretboard, accented with block mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays. The Epiphone 150th Anniversary Sheraton comes with premium electronics, including made-in-the-USA Gibson Mini Humbucker pickups wired to CTS potentiometers, Orange Drop capacitors, and a Switchcraft three-way pickup selector switch and 1/4” output jack.
150th Anniversary Wilshire
Since its introduction in 1959, the Wilshire has been one of Epiphone’s most successful original solidbody electric guitars, and now 873 limited edition models of these hard-rocking guitars will be produced to celebrate the company’s 150th Anniversary.
These 150th-Anniversary editions feature the popular “Batwing”-style headstock, plus an asymmetrical-style Wilshire double-cutaway mahogany body for outstanding upper fret access, a mahogany neck with a comfortable ‘60s SlimTaper D profile, and an Indian laurel fretboard with dot inlays.
150th Anniversary Crestwood Custom
Epiphone's first two-pickup solidbody electric guitar design, the Crestwood first appeared in 1958 and it was renamed Crestwood Custom in 1959.
In celebration of Epiphone’s 150th anniversary, the latest limited edition Crestwood Custom features an asymmetrical solid mahogany double-cutaway body, giving players unhindered upper fret access, a mahogany neck with a comfortable ‘60s SlimTaper D profile, and an Indian laurel fretboard with oval inlays, plus the popular “Batwing”-style headstock.
In a nod to the company’s founding year, only 873 of each model will be available—so, preorder any of these Epiphone 150th Anniversary models from CME today before they’re gone!
