Description

As the popularity of Fender musical instruments grew throughout the ‘50s, Leo Fender’s guitar design ideas flourished into new instrument models, like the Jazzmaster, which debuted in 1958. Originally intended to tempt jazz guitarists into playing solid-body electric guitars, this futuristic electric guitar is about as far from a boxy archtop as might be imagined. Although the Jazzmaster may have failed to catch on with the jazz crowd, its comfort-contoured offset body appealed to surf players in the ‘60s, and later became a staple of indie-rock, alternative, and even country players, who created a resurgence of interest around this instrument and have sustained its popularity into the present day.

Player II Series Series

Named for their player-friendly features, Fender Player II Series instruments feature Modern “C”-shaped necks with rolled fingerboard edges, 9.5”-radius fretboards, and medium jumbo frets. Improving on the previous Fender Player Series launched in 2018, Player II series instruments feature aged plastic parts to add a touch of vintage charm, a new neck tint, and ClassicGear tuning machines for a more classic vibe—plus, never-before-used finishes inspired by vintage automotive colors!
