The toggle switch cavity has also been opened up through the front of the body, with a large plastic mounting plate installed. The pickup cavities have also been previously modified, and each has a wood spacer glued in for pickup mounting. |

Cosmetic Condition: | This vintage Les Paul Special is in good cosmetic condition; the natural refinish has light chips, scratches, and dings. There are several plugged holes by the bridge and tailpiece posts, as well as some wear to the wood around the control cavity cover. There are a few finish chips on the back of the neck heel, and the neck is overall glossy and smooth. The headstock face has light hazing, and the silkscreened "Les Paul Special" is missing. |
Serial Number: | NA |
Tech Notes: | The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief, and the tall frets show only minor play wear. The lack of a serial number and electronics codes prevents a definitive dating, however the construction style and appointments are consistent with a 1957 model. |
