Finish Details: Original finish on the back and neck. The headstock has four small black touchups around each tuner post; the original tuner holes were bored out at one point, and were then filled, re-drilled, and touched up.

Neck Details: Set-in mahogany neck with unbound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, dot inlays, and truss rod adjustment at the headstock. The nut has been replaced. The original tuner holes were bored out at one point, and were subsequently plugged and re-drilled for the correct tuners.
Electronics: Original humbucker pickup with center pole pieces and black plastic cover, and original wiring harness with master volume/tone controls. Some solder joints appear to have been touched up. The pots were made by Centralab, and date to 1961.
Pickup Measurements: 33.0k
Hardware: Three of the tuners have been replaced with period-correct tuners. The jack plate and nut are also not original. The pickguard is missing.

Modifications/Repairs: -The nut and jack plate are not original -Some solder joints have been touched up -Three of the tuners are not original -The tuner holes have been plugged and re-drilled, and the area of the headstock around these has been touched up with black
Case Details: Original hardshell case; the handle has broken on one side.
Cosmetic Condition: The bass has aged nicely, with consistent horizontal finish checking on the body and neck, and numerous small dings/gouges on the body. There is heavy wear on the bass side of the pickup, and numerous chips along the edges of the body. The back of the body has some buckle rash and additional finish chips. The neck has a couple small dings on the back at the second fret, and wear along the sides of the fingerboard. The headstock edges have some finish wear as well.
Tech Notes: Plays well with low action; the frets are narrow and fairly low with minor wear, and the bass plays cleanly in this condition. The truss rod is adjustable in both directions. The original inked serial number on the back of the headstock has faded.
