Body Details: Mahogany solid body -- The area surrounding the treble side bridge stud was blown out at some point and since been repaired.

Neck Details: One-piece mahogany set neck with a Brazilian rosewood board, pearloid dot inlays, truss adjustment at the headstock
Electronics: Single-coil pickups, 3-way toggle pickup selector switch, volume & tone controls per pickup -- Original pickups, pots, and switch with pot codes dating from 1961 and 1962. Many solder joints have been touched up or modified. The bridge pickup lead wire has been spliced. The ground wire to the bridge stud has been spliced.
Pickup Measurements: Neck: 7 kΩ, Bridge: 6.6 kΩ
Hardware: The control knobs have been replaced. -- Misc. pickguard screws have been replaced -- The bottom strap button has been replaced. The original is broken but included within the hard shell.
Modifications/Repairs: The area around the treble side bridge stud has been repaired -- Misc wires have been spliced or replaced, misc solder joint connections have been touched up. -- Non-original control knobs -- Misc pickguard screws have been replaced
Case Details: Non-original Road Runner brand hard shell case
Cosmetic Condition: This Melody Maker shows nice aging and play wear. Finish checking exists on the top of the body but is sparse throughout the rest of the instrument. Minor nicks, chips, and dings can be found.
Serial Number: 85415
Tech Notes: Currently, set up with 10-gauge strings, low action, and optimal neck relief. The frets are wide and low showing only light play wear as they have recently been dressed. -- The pot codes date from 1961 and 1962. The serial number dates from 1962 to 1964, however the appointments date no earlier than 1963. The high serial number suggests a build year of 1964.
