Electronics: Original Rickenbacker pickups with a three-position switch, two volume pots, two tone pots, and two output jacks. All components and wiring are original. The underside of the pots have been sanded and the solder joints have been touched up. The pot codes are displayed on the side and show 1972 dates.

Tech Notes: This 4001 plays well with low action. The original frets are thin and show moderate wear. It is being dated to 1972 based on the "L" in the serial number, pot codes, and cosmetic appointments.
