Electronics: The bass has been fully rewired, with original single coil "lipstick" pickups, 3-way toggle switch, and volume/tone controls for each pickup. The neck pickup volume pot is not an original component. The bass is wired so that the pickups are in series in the middle switch position. The date codes on the original pots date to 1966.

Cosmetic Condition: The bass shows moderate cosmetic wear, with finish checking and hazing, and numerous chips and dings throughout the body and neck. The pickguard has shrunk and warped with time, but is secure to the body. The neck has numerous patches of wear and dings as well.

Tech Notes: The bass sets up with flatwound strings, high action, and relief in the neck; there is no adjustable truss rod, and so the bass has been set up to play in its current condition. The frets are wide and low with mild wear. The pot codes date the instrument to the 1960s.
