The Fender American Performer Stratocaster combines Fender tradition with American-made quality and modern versatility, coming equipped with a trio of Yosemite single-coil pickups with shellac coating and flat-staggered pole pieces for hot output with minimal sustain. The Greasebucket circuitry offers rich, dynamic tone and push-pull tone control adds or subtracts the neck pickup in any switching position. The solid maple neck is carved to a “Modern C” profile and the 9.5-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets offers excellent playability and easy bending no matter the playing style. Founded by Leo Fender in 1938 as Fender’s Radio Service, what is now the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation began making electric guitars and amplifiers in 1945.
