Tech Notes: | The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief, and the frets are moderately low with mild play wear. The serial number, electronics codes, and "slab" rosewood fretboard date the guitar to 1961. The bottom of the neck heel has "4959" stamped into the wood, under the finish, and the headstock decal is a "transitional era" style. These indicate that the guitar was refinished at the Fender factory sometime between 1964 and 1968. |
