Body Details: Solid one piece alder body. The body is stamped "special" just under the neck plate, indicating this guitar was a special order from Fender.

Fingerboard Material: Brazilian Rosewood

Neck Details: Bolt-on maple neck with unbound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, dot inlays, and heel-adjust truss rod. The neck has been refretted and the nut is a non-original bone nut. The heel is stamped "12 FEB 66B." The back of the headstock is stamped "special" as well.
Electronics: Original grey bobbin single coil pickups with June 1966 date markings, and original wiring harness with 4-position rotary switch and master volume/tone controls. Some solder connections have been touched up. The pot codes date to 1966.

Hardware: The nut has been replaced with a bone nut.

Cosmetic Condition: The guitar is very clean for its age, with a few small dings and minor blemishes on the glossy finish. There is a rectangular area of case rash on the front of the body, as well as minor buckle rash on the back. There is minor finish checking present.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and minor neck relief on the treble side of the neck; the bass side of the neck sights straight. The frets are narrow and tall with minor wear present. The heel stamp, electronics markings, and serial number all date the guitar to 1966.
