Finish Details: Original sunburst finish. There is heavy checking, dings, dents, and scratches throughout.
Body Material: Mahogany
Neck Material: Mahogany
Fingerboard Material: Brazilian Rosewood
Neck Profile: "C" Shape
Neck Thickness (IN): 1st. Fret: .77" & 12th. Fret: .94"
Fingerboard Radius: 12.00"
Nut Width: 1-11/16"
Scale Length: 24 3/4"
Electronics: Gibson "Pat. No" bridge and neck humbuckers with a Gibson "Pat. No." mini humbucker in the middle position. It has been fully rewired with CTS pots, cloth wiring, and Orange Drop Capacitors. The harness is wired where output is heard from the middle pickup and bridge or neck pickup when the pickup selector is set to their respected position. When the pickup selector is in the bridge or neck position, output from the middle pickup is removed by rolling down the the pot that is normally the neck pickup volume. In the middle position, output is heard from all three pickups and is out of phase. Also, when in the middle position, each pickup's volume is independent. This, in turn, results in being able to have output from the middle pickup only.
Pickup Measurements: N/A due to schematic
Hardware: Original tuners, nut, bridge, pickguard, and tremolo.
Weight: 9lbs 3oz
Modifications/Repairs: -The guitar has been refretted. The binding was removed and then reinstalled post refret to preserve the original look of the instrument. -Originally, the guitar comprised of two mini humbuckers. The modification of this instrument involved enlarging the bridge and neck routes to fit normal sized humbuckers and adding a third route in the middle to accompany the mini humbucker. All three pickups are era correct "Pat. No." sticker humbuckers. -Full rewire with CTS 500k pots, cloth wiring, and Orange Drop capacitors. Each pickup has its own master volume and the entire harness utilizes a single master tone pot. In the middle position, the pickups are out of phase with the ability to introduce or remove each pickup from the signal path making it able to have output from each pickup alone if so desired. -The headstock suffered a break and was repaired properly. It is stable and does not effect playability. Three mahogany dowels were installed along the crack in an attempt to strengthen the repair. -A third strap button was installed on the bass horn. -Non-original truss rod nut.
Case Details: Hardshell Case
Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Firebird is in good cosmetic condition with moderate wear throughout. The headstock has suffered a break. Three mahogany dowels were installed along the crack in an attempt to fortify the repair. The finish displays checking, dings, dents, chips, and scratches throughout.
Serial Number: #212560
Tech Notes: This Firebird plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. The non-original frets are tall and show light wear. The instrument is being dated to 1964 based of the serial number.
