Finish Details: Original. There is a red undercoat in a few spots on the body, visible where the black has worn down. This is original from the factory.

Body Details: Two piece mahogany "pancake" body with maple laminate layer, and carved maple top.
Neck Material: Mahogany
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Neck Profile: "C" profile

Neck Details: Set-in three piece mahogany neck with bound ebony fretboard, block inlays, small volute, and headstock truss rod adjustment. There is an approximately 1" chip out of the wood on the back of the headstock, at the treble tip.
Electronics: Original Gibson pickups with embossed patent numbers, and original wiring harness with 3-way toggle selector switch and volume/tone controls for each pickup. The neck pickup braid has been reattached to the pickup baseplate. The pot codes date to 1974.
Pickup Measurements: 7.7k (neck), 7.5k (bridge)
Hardware: Original, aside from a replaced jack plate.

Modifications/Repairs: The neck pickup braid has been reattached to the baseplate. The cover was removed and reattached. The jack plate has also been replaced.
Case Details: Original Hardshell Case
Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Les Paul Custom has aged nicely, with various light scratches and play marks on the glossy finish. There are a few areas of light hazing, along with attractive wear on the hardware. The back of the body has light buckle rash, and the back of the neck is smooth with a few small chips. There is a roughly 1" long chip of wood missing from the back of the headstock at the treble tip.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief; the original frets are low with light play wear. The serial number, pot codes, and construction dates the guitar to early 1974.
