The Solid Steel snares use a cast shell that is then machined to exact tolerances. The seamless shells are 3mm thick at the shell wall and 5mm thick at the each edge and have 45-degree bearing edges. Shell interiors and exteriors are finished in shiny black chrome. Additional features include Lightning throw-off, top and bottom die-cast hoops, 'Snap-In' key holder, center shell Gretsch knurled pattern and 42-Strand snare wire.
