In 1969, Fender released "Competition" versions of its short-scale Mustang and Mustang Bass model, sporting a more distinctive visual flair inspired by Mustang cars of the era with an instantly recognizable, Shelby-inspired racing stripe on each of its “Competition” Mustang and Mustang Bass colorways. Now, CME has partnered with Squier to offer our customers CME Exclusive colorway replicating the rarest color among its “Competition” counterparts using the current Fender colors Capri Orange and Dakota Red!
